To sum up this
strategy:
Playing a Hard 17 -
21 - Stand no matter what the dealers up card is.
Playing Hard Hands
11 or Less - Hit on against all of the dealer up cards
as it is impossible to bust and not a smart move to stand
pat.
Playing the Hard 12
to 16's - Whenever the dealer has a bust card showing (
a 2-6), stand on all hard totals of 12 or more. The
exception is hit on the 2 and 3. When the dealers
shows a 7, 8, 9, 10, A, hit all hard totals of 16 or less.
Whenever the dealer has a pat card showing, A-7, he is
likely to make a hand, so we must look to get at least to
17.

To sum up this
strategy:
Except on your most
powerful hands of 19 and 20, and sometimes the 18, you will
always draw more cards with soft totals, either as a
straight hit trying to improve, or as a doubling strategy,
trying to maximize your advantage.
Doubling with soft
totals is generally a gain against weak dealer up cards.
When followed exactly as laid out these
basic blackjack strategy charts are highly effective. I
strongly recommend that you use them.
