ELIMINATION BLACKJACK

Tournament Blackjack

Elimination Blackjack or Tournament Blackjack is one of the most exciting games around.  It is like a cross between a poker tournament and Blackjack all rolled up into one.

Just like in regular Blackjack, you play each hand against the dealer. You do not need to worry about the hand values of the other players. You are simply trying to collect the most chips within a set number of hands in order to survive eliminations and ultimately win the game.

Here are some exciting highlights of Elimination Blackjack:

  • You are trying to accumulate the largest amount of chips along the way.

  • The player with the least amount of chips after hands 8, 16 and 25 is eliminated.

  • To make it even more interesting, there is something called a Secret Bet. Each player has one Secret Bet per round, allowing you to bet a certain amount of chips without letting the other players know what your bet is. This introduces an element of bluffing not found in other versions of Blackjack.

  • Players may split, double down or surrender a hand.

  • If you lose your chips, you have busted out of the tournament.

ELIMINATION BLACKJACK (Tournament Blackjack) AT A GLANCE

This example of how a game of elimination blackjack will help you understand just how a game is played:

  • Each player starts with $25,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet in the preliminary round is $500.

  • At the final table, you’ll start with $100,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet at the final table is $1,000.

  • Elimination Blackjack features a rotating marker. Action starts on the button and rotates clockwise every hand.

  • You’ll have 25 seconds to make a decision. On Elimination Hands, you’ll have 10 seconds to decide what you want to do.

  • Hands 8, 16, and 25 are Elimination Hands. The player with the least amount of chips on these hands will be eliminated.

  • Each player is given one Secret Bet that can be used at any time. The secret bet allows you to place your bet without revealing it to the other players.

  • Whoever has the most chips at the end of Hand 30 wins.

In Elimination Blackjack, the player with the lowest chip total is eliminated after hands 8, 16, and 25. To avoid elimination, you must pay attention to your chip count at all times and stay ahead of at least one other player.

No matter how many players a round begins with, at least one player must be eliminated on each Elimination Hand. Even if a player busts out before and Elimination Hand, one player must still be eliminated on hands 8, 16, and 25. The Elimination style whittles the competition down, often making the game end in a heads-up confrontation, similar to poker tournaments.

That’s it.  Simple and straight forward.
